Parental Involvement Professional Development Modules
Over the years, research has shown that parents as partners make a positive difference in student school performance. School and parent partnerships will promote the social, emotional, and academic growth of children. Communities and schools must strive to develop meaningful opportunities to become involved in the education of their children. Schools must empower stakeholders to make a difference in the lives and education of our youth.
Act 603 of 2003 mandates parental involvement professional development for teachers and administrators. Various modules have been developed for Arkansas staff to use in fulfilling this professional development mandate. All or part of the parental involvement modules may be used for individual school needs.
The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) adheres to the state’s two mandated parental involvement laws in closing the achievement gap and providing quality parental involvement in all schools.
