Who is required to take the state assessments?

State assessments are administered to all students enrolled in grades 3-11 who are eligible for testing under standardized conditions, with or without accommodations. The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) assessment is administered to grades 3-8 in mathematics and grades 3-11 in English Language Art/Literacy; End of Course assessments for Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II; as well as the Arkansas Comprehensive Testing, Assessment and Accountability Program (ACTAAP) assessments for Science (grades 5 and 7) and Biology End-of-Course. A student whose Individualized Educational Program (IEP) indicates that testing is inappropriate is assessed with the Alternate Assessment on Alternate Achievement Standards and the Arkansas Alternate Portfolio Assessment in science (grades 5, 7, and 10).
