Join and Celebrate
This national campaign is designed to celebrate innovative teaching and highlight practices that make learning more personalized and engaging for students, exploring how digital learning can provide all students with the opportunities they deserve – to build the skills needed to succeed in college, career, and life. Through this campaign we are hoping to build momentum for a wave of innovation that seeks to engage students, promote effective use of technology in the classroom and support a wide-scale adoption of these promising instructional practices.
The campaign is a movement that will help provide a quality education for EVERY child. Change is up to YOU – we hope you will help build this wave for innovation, personalized learning, and great teaching by participating in the Digital Learning Day campaign effort.
Three ways to get involved:
1. Get on the Map
Whether your activity is classroom based, school-wide, or district-wide, we want to know of your participation and how many students will be celebrating with you. Add your activity to the Digital Learning Day Celebration Map. No matter how big or small, simple or complex the activity, we want to highlight it!

3. Share
In support of Digital Learning Day, the Arkansas Department of Education invites public school educators to share their best classroom practices and innovations with their fellow educators. Beginning Thursday, November 1, 2012 and continuing through Friday, February 1, 2013, the ADE will be electronically collecting responses from educators to the following question:
How are you using technology to prepare your students for the challenges of the college classrooms and careers of the future?
As responses are collected, they will be reviewed and evaluated for inclusion in a special Digital Learning Day collection on the Arkansas iTunes U website. Educators are strongly encouraged to be creative in their submissions. Teachers can either submit their responses in writing, in a short video clip or a short audio clip. Educators are also encouraged to share websites that have been beneficial or useful to them, as they have moved forward in integrating digital technology into their everyday classroom practices.
Permissions must be obtained from all whose voice, image, or work appear in your document, audio or video. Music, images, and other media that you did not create must be licensed for reuse. For more information on copyright compliance, please click HERE.
All submissions should be sent via email to ade.dld@arkansas.gov, and should include your name, email address, district, school, content area, grade level and phone number. If you experience any difficulties submitting a response, please contact Shelley Dirst, Arkansas iTunes U, 870-429-9136.
This unique opportunity provides Arkansas educators with a vehicle for sharing ideas and strategies for integrating technology, creativity and innovation in the classroom. By working together, sharing ideas on utilizing digital tools into lesson plans and classroom activities, Arkansas educators can celebrate Digital Learning Day not just one day a year, but throughout the year!
