Equity Assistance


The Office of Equity Assistance has the responsibility of assisting and assuring that all school districts comply with state and federal regulations which prohibits discrimination. This office shall assist local school districts with developing plans for implementing and monitoring equitable educational opportunities free of discrimination on the basis of race, sex, national origin, age or handicapping conditions. Equity Assistance covers a range of topics including prayer in schools, school choice, discipline policies, minority teacher recruitment and equity compliance.
