Professional Development Approvals
According to the Rules for Professional Development, all professional development programs must be approved by the Arkansas Department of Education (7.0 Approval Process).
Schools, districts, cooperatives, Arkansas Department of Education, Arkansas Department of Career Education, Arkansas Department of Human Services Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education are pre-approved professional development providers.
All vendors, non-profit, not-for-profit, state agencies and state organizations must submit an application to become an approved professional development provider on the Arkansas Professional Development Submission and Management website.
Training for Arkansas School Board Members (Approval)
According to the Rules for Governing Required Training for Arkansas School Board Members, (6.0.1 Training Providers), any instruction directly provided to board members by either an institution of higher learning in this state, the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), or the Arkansas School Boards Association (ASBA), which instruction meets the training content requirements of Section 5.00 of this Rule, shall not require pre-approval by the ADE.
All others that wish to provide approved training to Arkansas’s school board members must submit an application to become an ADE-Approved Professional Development Provider via the Arkansas Professional Development Submission and Management (PDSAM) website: http://www.arpdsam.org
