Why are the standards important for educators?

The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) define the knowledge and skills that students should have to be prepared for college or the workforce. The CCSS provide the foundation upon which educators plan, create, and deliver instruction.

What is the educator’s role?

By adhering to our Principles for College and Career Readiness, Arkansas educators will support students as they prepare for college and careers. Instruction will be founded on best practices, grounded in research and evidence. Educators will understand the purpose of formative assessments and use them to provide feedback and support to learners. Educators will convey and support the vision by providing learning opportunities through in-school and out-of-school settings that strengthen and assist students.
