APSCN Financial Applications is an integral part of the Arkansas Public School Computer Network Unit.
MISSION: To provide all Arkansas public schools, charter schools, and education service cooperatives electronic access to financial administrative computing services that provides state and local decision makers accurate, timely and comprehensive information.
APSCN Financial Applications is the financial management software used by Arkansas public schools, charter schools, and education service cooperatives for all bookkeeping, accounting, and financial record keeping and reporting. The unit maintains, edits, and publishes the Arkansas Financial Accounting Handbook to enable uniform coding of revenues and expenditures. The unit has a field support staff that provides end-user training and technical support; a telephone help desk staff that provides accounting and technical support to resolve end-user problems, and a web site (www.apscn.org) that has financial software documentation, step-by-step procedures, outlines, and various automated reports to assist schools in making sound financial decisions and in managing the school’s finances. Each district's data is stored in a database housed at the Arkansas Department of Information Systems. Nine times a year (cycles) data is pulled from the databases and stored in a data warehouse. Data is pulled from the data warehouse to compile required state and federal reports and statistical information.
