The purpose of the Arkansas Department of Education is to provide the highest quality leadership, service, and support to school districts and schools in order that they may provide equitable, quality education for all students in Arkansas public schools. With a staff of approximately 300 professionals, the ADE is firmly committed to this mission.

Office of Communications
The Arkansas Department of Education's Office of Communications works daily to keep Arkansans informed of the operations of the ADE and of educational issues, events and achievements that occur year-round in the state. The office’s Media Center is responsible for photography, videography and production of PowerPoint and other presentation materials for ADE.
In addition to disseminating news releases, the Office of Communications is responsible for creating and maintaining the ADE Web site as well as publishing the ADE Briefs blog, the Arkansas Education Directory and additional education-related publications.
Through these means, the Office of Communications strives to provide information to news media and the public in an accurate and timely manner.
